Kitties in Rehabilitation

This page is dedicated to the cats in our care who need a little extra time, patience, and healing. Whether recovering from illness, injury, neglect, or trauma, these special kitties are on a journey toward a brighter future. While they may not be ready for adoption just yet, they are receiving the love, medical care, and support they need to thrive. By following their stories, you are witnessing resilience, hope, and the incredible impact compassion can make—one life at a time.

  • Nessy

For the first eight years of her life, Nessy lived in a hoarder home where she was surrounded by far too many cats and very little safety. Instead of companionship, she endured constant stress, bullying, and repeated attacks from other cats. Living in a state of fear became her normal, and over time, that fear shaped who she had to be in order to survive.

When Nessy came into our care, her physical health was thankfully stable. But emotionally, the damage ran deep. Years of trauma left her with intense anxiety and an inability to feel safe around other cats or in new environments.

A loving foster home opened their heart and home to her and truly tried everything—quiet spaces, patience, routine, and gentle care. Sadly, despite their best efforts, Nessy was unable to settle or feel secure. This was not a setback or a failure, but a reflection of just how deeply her past experiences affected her.

Because of this, Nessy will be returning to our care on 2/10, where we can slow things down and meet her exactly where she is. Nessy needs time, consistency, and a carefully controlled environment to begin learning that she is finally safe.

Nessy is not broken. She is not difficult. She is a cat who spent her entire life in survival mode and is now being asked to learn peace for the first time.

Her journey will take patience, understanding, and compassion—but she is worth every single step. We are committed to giving Nessy the time and support she needs to heal, at her pace, for as long as it takes.

  • Charlie

Charlie’s journey has been one that sits deep in our hearts. When he arrived, he was in devastating condition—severely malnourished, anemic, and clearly worn down by a life that had not been kind to him. His body told a story of long-term neglect and survival, and from the very beginning we knew his road would not be an easy one.

Charlie is an older gentleman, estimated to be around 10–12 years old, and his medical needs reflect that. He is battling anemia, kidney issues, and requires daily medication as we work to stabilize his body and give him the best possible chance. His ear damage is the result of untreated hematomas from long ago, another reminder of how much he endured before finding safety.

But here’s what Charlie is now…

He is gentle. He is loving. He is endlessly grateful. Charlie adores food time, melts into blankets and snuggles, and soaks up every ounce of affection offered to him. He trusts so deeply, and that alone feels like a miracle after everything he’s been through.

While his future still carries uncertainty, Charlie is fighting. We are taking things day by day, listening closely to his body, and giving him all the comfort, medical care, and love he deserves—no matter how long or short his journey with us may be.

Charlie matters. His life matters. And he will never know abandonment again.

  • Kristi

Kristi came to us in heartbreaking condition. She was tiny, weak, and clearly had been through far more than any kitty ever should. Her eyes were badly infected, her body was worn down, and from the moment she arrived it was obvious she needed immediate love, medical care, and patience.

Fast forward to now, and while she still has a long road ahead, she has made progress. Her eyes are looking better than they were when she arrived, but they are not healing the way they should be. There is concern that she may have an abscess forming under her right eye that may need to be opened and treated. On top of that, Kristi is struggling with her leg and is unable to walk well, which is another big concern for us.

Because of this, Kristi will be heading back to the vet on 2/6 so we can get answers and make sure she gets exactly what she needs to heal properly.

Despite everything stacked against her, Kristi is an absolute trooper. She is the sweetest little peanut—full of love, trust, and gentle affection. She melts into pets, just wants to be close, and never complains. She is still incredibly small, weighing under 5 pounds, but her spirit is mighty.

Please keep Kristi in your thoughts as we continue fighting for her comfort, healing, and future. She is so very loved, and we will not give up on her.

As of 2/5 she is back at the vet and staying for however long it takes (minimum of 4 days) to be monitored and treated as she declined quickly here overnight.

2/27 update, she is healthy, happy and ready for her furever home! 🩷

  • Mama Macy

This sweetheart came to us very pregnant and needing safety from the frigid winter temperatures. She has settled into our foster room and made her little nest area in preperation for upcoming arrival(s)! We can't wait to meet them and know she will be a wonderful mama!

After an ultra sound on the 20th, we learned she had about 3 weeks left. So any day now!

    Update- 3/23/26

Mama had her babies, 5 sweet and beautiful little muffins, on 3/15/26. Sadly, we lost one 2 days later. 💔 The remaining 4 are very healthy, chunky, theirs eyes are opening and they are just the sweetest little babies!

  • Mama Draxy

Earlier this week, we were told about a tame outdoor kitty who was expecting babies. With how full we are right now, we had to say no… and it absolutely broke our hearts.

But we couldn’t stop thinking about her. It just kept eating away at us.

So we started reaching out to friends and family, hoping somehow we could find a solution. And by the grace of God, we did. 🩷

This sweet girl and her babies now have a (new!) foster home ready for them! I went and picked her up this afternoon and she is settling in and transitioning this weekend.

She is incredibly sweet (albeit scared), seems pretty young, and thankfully looks very healthy. We are so grateful to the amazing people who stepped up to help make this possible and to the wonderful foster opening their home to her and her babies.
